Interview Wrapup Overview
The Interview Wrapup page is accessed when you are:
- determining eligibility
- calculating or recalculating benefits, or
- authorizing or rejecting changes to a household or a household members circumstances.
A household, also called an Eligibility Group, is defined as a group of Assessed and Basic persons who live at the same address.
You will use the Interview Wrapup page to initiate a request to wrapup the interview. The page must be accessed when any eligibility influencing data is entered or changed and requires authorization.
You can access the page at any time during the interview to display how a reported change will impact a benefit amount.
To perform an Eligibility Benefit Calculation (EBC) you must complete the Request for Assistance (RFA), Case maintenance, Household Composition and AU Composition Workflows.
The Verification page and the requires reedit indicators are tied to eligibility influencing data. Therefore, you must complete all pages requiring reedit and all needed verifications must be entered in order to include the eligibility data in the request and wrapup the request.
Benefit changes and notices will not be released until the interview wrapup workflow is completed.
Once you have entered any Application, Revaluation (the reevaluation of continued eligibility in a program) or case maintenance data you will access the Interview Wrapup page to:
- create or view an Interview Wrapup request which includes requested data for:
- Pending household members, including adding a new member, and
- All entered/changed information that requires authorization.
- execute or view results for an Eligibility and Benefit Calculation (EBC)
- authorize a request as either approved or rejected, and/or
- delete an Interview Wrapup-request.
If you perform an EBC calculation, the Interview Wrapup EBC Results Page will:
- collect application, reevaluation or case maintenance information
- set Annual Reporting options
- suppress notices, and/or
- waive pending periods.
Note: The Requires Reedit hand will point at the Interview Wrapup section on the Eligibility Explorer Interview page to indicate that the section must be completed.
Interview Wrapup Functions
Interview Wrapup functions include:
- A Select list that identifies all in-progress requests. Selection of an in-progress request will populate the information in the Request tab.
- A Request tab to view the details of a request.
- An Add button to save information.
- A Clear button to remove a request.
- A Delete button to delete a request.
Three additional buttons for Selection, EBC Results and Authorization will open secondary pages:

- Interview Wrapup Selection Page
- The EBC (Eligibility Benefit Calculation) Results button opens the Eligibility and Benefit Calculation page to view or execute EBC results; and
- Interview Wrapup EBC Results Page
- The Authorization button opens the Authorization page which allows the proper authorization level to approve or reject the request.
- Interview Wrapup Authorization Page
- Interview Wrapup Selection Page
Appeals Button
An Appeals section which records appeal information but you can only view the page. A security role of Fair Hearing Officer has been created for Central Office Division of Hearings to update appeal information.
Interview Wrapup Views
The following views, found under Daily Priority Actions, are used in the Interview Wrapup process:
Interview Wrapup-Pending Authorization View
This view allows you to view those requests that require authorization. The request will be displayed only when the required previous authorizer, if any, has authorized the request.
A request that requires a TAOs director’s authorization will not show on the Directors Pending Authorization view until a supervisor has approved the request.
Interview Wrapup-Rejected Authorization View
This view allows you to identify requests that have been rejected by another authorizer. You can view the rejected request and take the appropriate action (i.e. creating a new request).
Your supervisor rejects an authorization because the request does not include a disabled client’s SSI income. You will create a new request that includes the missing information.
Interview Wrapup-Pending Release View
This view allows you to identify requests that are pending release and/or may be under appeal.
Splitting-Pending Assistance-Units
When a request is split into two requests:
- the first request for a case approval is released immediately;
- the second request is created in batch, following the release of the approval and appears in Interview Wrapup the next day with a future release date.
An edit prevents a household from being split if there is a grantee who is part of a pending release EBC request.
If you still wish to split the household, delete the request first, split the household, and then create another EBC request.
BEACON Edits, Messages and Warnings
2 Person-TAFDC Case
The Interview wrapup was changed so that when a 2 person TAFDC case with an eligible grantee and an ineligible dependent without an ineligibility reason is recalculated, the case will remain open.
BEACON Edit
If during EBC results, the household is determined to be non-categorically eligible and the Assets Q&A Navigator questions were not completed, the following edit will display:
“Assets data must be completed and selected before the request can be authorized. Please return to the Asset Q&A Navigator page.”
BEACON Messages with Regard to Expedited benefits
“This request contains an Expedited Food Stamp Assistance Unit. Since there is no longer any immediate needs in the Program change page, you must recalculate the request.”
“This request contains a regular assistance unit. Since there are now immediate needs in the program change page, you must recalculate the request.”
BEACON Warning
The following warning displays when an eligibility request which was authorized by you with a 10 day pending period effective date changes to an immediate release effective date when accessed by the supervisor:
The Release date of this request has changed from xx/xx/xxx to today’s date. If this is NOT correct then Cancel from the Interview Wrapup, exit the case and try again.
This is a workaround until the root cause of this issue can be identified. Please call the Systems help desk at 617-367-5500 with the case details and the steps taken within the session.
Closed or Denied SNAP Case
When a closed or denied SNAP case that was associated with a currently closed or denied TAFDC or EAEDC case is reopened through the Request for Assistance (RFA) or Reinstatement process the Benefit Effective Date that was authorized by you on the Interview Wrapup EBC Result Updates tab is being replaced by a batch job with a new Benefit Effective Date that equals the next cyclical issuance date for the case. These cases are owed the retroactive benefits from the original Benefit Effective Date to the new Benefit Effective Date. (See Handle a Closed or Denied SNAP Case that was Reopened Through RFA or Reinstatement.)
