Handle a Closed or Denied SNAP Case that was Reopened through RFA or Reinstatement

When a closed or denied SNAP case that was associated with a currently closed or denied TAFDC or EAEDC case is reopened through the Request for Assistance (RFA) or Reinstatement process the Benefit Effective Date that was authorized by you on the Interview Wrapup EBC Result Updates tab will be replaced by a BEACON batch job with a new Benefit Effective Date that equals the next cyclical issuance date for the case. These cases are owed the retroactive benefits from the original Benefit Effective Date to the new Benefit Effective Date.

  1. When an application is approved and the Benefit History is checked the next day but no benefit was issued:
  2. Verify on the Result tab in the client’s Electronic Case Folder to see if a request was released.
  3. If no request was released, check the Interview Wrapup page to determine the status of the request.
  4. If the request was released check the BB System to determine if FMCS was updated, and what the Start date of the request is in FMCS.

If there is a discrepancy between the original Benefit Effective Date and the New Benefit Effective Date, a supplemental payment should be calculated and authorized for the difference.
