Application Interview: Household Composition
Selecting the Request for Assistance (RFA) workflow creates a new application and establishes the application start date. Once the Complete Request page in the Request for Assistance workflow is complete, if the applicant wants to apply for a program for which s/he did not previously apply, you must complete another RFA.
Note: You can click on Inquiry (Work in Progress) and enable the As Of date field to determine what programs an applicant has applied for or is receiving benefits for. When you enter a date in As Of, you are able to view, but not alter, case information on the date entered. Clicking on Inquiry allows you to view, but not alter, current case information. You are able to verify with the applicant that information data-entered during the Request for Assistance workflow is correct.
If at any time after the RFA you stop the interview and exit the Electronic Case Folder (ECF), you can resume the interview by clicking the Case Maintenance workflow on the Workflow tab.
Once the RFA has been completed, click Next to continue the application interview in the Household Composition workflow. In the Household Composition workflow, click the Address and Phone pages to view and verify that information entered during the RFA is correct. Correct any information that is incorrect on these pages. Next is the Email page. Email addresses are optional. Clients are not required to provide an email address and staff must not communicate with clients via email. Email addresses are collected for future use.
Once this is completed, save the information and click Next. This will bring you to the Household page. On the Household page:
- select the applicant’s name from the select field. A Message popup page prompts you to click the Query List button on the Household page.
- click on the Query List button to merge the household, if appropriate. See the Household Composition: Household Merge section of this guide for household merge requirements and procedures.
- on the Household Query List page, click the RMV List button
-
Note: Clicking the RMV List button queries the RMV database using the current residential address listed in BEACON and matches it against the RMV License Address and the RMV Registration owner address. All clients matched will be displayed in the list. The address column on the page will display RMV if the address is matched from the RMV’s license or registration data. Clients populated in the Query list from the RMV database cannot be selected.
-
- add any other people living in the household on the Household page. See Household Composition – EAEDC for the rules on who must be in the EAEDC household and instructions on how to appropriately enter demographic information requested whether or not they are requesting assistance.
-
Important: If an application for SNAP benefits is also requested, you must click the Yes or No radio button to indicate whether or not the household members purchase and prepare food together
-
- Click Next to save the data and bring you to the AU Composition page.
