Household Composition: Household Merge EAEDC

When an address is matched on the Address page, you are taken to the Household page to complete the Household Merge process. You must click on the Query List button to select the assessed persons or basic persons at the same address and return to the Household page. The Interview is exited at this point to merge the two households and to retrieve the existing data associated with assessed persons or basic persons in the existing household. You would then return to the Household page to complete the interview.

The Household page requires you to click on the Query List button to determine if there are any assessed persons or basic persons at the same address (those addresses with the same internal address ID).

All assessed persons or basic persons at the same address will be pre-checked on the Household Query List pop-up. When you click the Select button on the Query List page, you will be returned to the Household page with the checked assessed persons or basic persons now appearing in the Household Outline field.

At this point, you should follow the on-line Informational Messages in order to leave the interview so that the assessed persons’ or basic persons’ data in the existing household can be brought into the Interview from the database and the two households can be merged into one household. The household will now have the same address as the two assessed persons who are grantees.

Important: If you determine that a second case in the same household will have no programmatic impact on the first case, you may choose to select New, instead of Match, on the Address Match page. This will not merge the cases into a single household.

Once the successful merging has been accomplished, addresses which have more than one household can be revisited to identify and resolve any programmatic issues.
