SNAP Path to Work Website

The SNAP Path to Work program provides SNAP-only clients with the skills, training, experience, education and employment supports needed to find and keep good paying jobs. SNAP Path to Work is a federal-state-local partnership administered by DTA.

Detailed information about the components available through the SNAP Path to Work program can be accessed by visiting the SNAP Path to Work website: www.snappathtowork.org

DTA staff may use the SNAP Path to Work website to help SNAP-only clients locate education, training and volunteer opportunities. Clients interested in learning more about SNAP Path to Work participation should be instructed to call or request contact from a provider if interested in a specific component or a Central Office SNAP Path to Work Specialist via the toll free SNAP Work Requirements Line: 888-483-0255 with generic interest or questions about the participation.

Reminder: DTA operates a voluntary employment and training program. Voluntary participants will not be disqualified for failure to comply with employment and training requirements.

Information for SNAP Clients

By visiting the website, a SNAP client can:

learn about the types of activity available through the SNAP Path to Work program;
access information about the ABAWD Work Program requirement;
search for SNAP Path to Work activity by location; and
request contact from a specific SNAP Path to Work Provider to explore possible enrollment.

Information for Providers

By visiting the website a Potential SNAP Path to Work Provider can:

learn about the benefits of becoming a SNAP Path to Work Provider;
access information about upcoming provider recruitment events;
learn about the activity offered by current SNAP Path to Work Providers; and
express interest in becoming a provider.

Website Translation

Website content can be viewed in multiple languages. To request translation of website content from the home page:

select a language from the drop-down list in the upper right hand corner of the page;
the following popup message will appear in the selected language:
1. “The translations of web content within the SNAP Path to Work website are made by Google Translate, an external free translation service. The translated content is provided by Google Translate. Not all text may be translated correctly. SNAP Path to Work is not responsible for issues resulting from the use of Google Translate. click Okay. All site content will appear in the language selected by the user

Find a SNAP Path to Work Provider

Website visitors can locate education or training opportunities using the Find a Provider feature. To search for an education and training activity:

select Education and Training from the Activity Type dropdown selection
select the preferred service from the Provider Service dropdown selection (optional)
enter an address or city/town name in the Proximity from Address field and select the preferred number of miles from the Distance dropdown selection (optional)
click Search

A list of SNAP Path to Work Providers that offer activities that meet the selected criteria will appear. By clicking the name of a provider, the user can access the following:

the address, phone number,hours of operation and website information of the provider;
a description of the components offered by the provider. Click the Click for Details box for more information about a specific component, including:
- a description of the service;
- participant demographics;
- program hours; and
- program duration

Note: A qualifying SNAP Path to Work activity is flagged with the tag “Possibly Meets the ABAWD Work Program Requirement.” Enrollment in qualifying components is not limited to ABAWDs.

To access driving, transit, walking and cycling directions to the provider:

click the provider pin on the map. A box containing the site address, phone number, website address and directions link will appear
click Directions. Google Maps will open in a separate tab

Requesting Contact from a SNAP Path to Work Provider

Clients who are interested in learning more about a specific component can request contact from the selected provider by completing a contact form. To do so, the client must:

select a provider from the search list
enter his/her name and phone number in the appropriate boxes
check the Disclaimer box. By checking this box, the client consents to the selected SNAP Path to Work Provider using the contact information provided to contact, and confirms that s/he has not submitted personal and/or confidential information that s/he does not wish DTA or a SNAP Path to Work Provider to access. The information collected in this form is protected in accordance with the website’s privacy policy
click Submit

The Provider will receive a list of clients who have requested contact and will reach out to these clients using the phone number that was provided.

Find a Potential ABAWD Volunteer Site

ABAWDs can locate organizations where they may be able to volunteer to meet the ABAWD Work Program requirement using the Find a Provider feature. To search for potential volunteer sites:

select the Potential ABAWD Volunteer Sites from the Activity dropdown selection.
a popup message will appear informing clients that placement with a provider on the resulting list is not guaranteed and advising that volunteer work at organizations not listed in the website is allowed with SNAP Path to Work Specialist approval. Click Okay.
enter an address or city/town name in the Proximity from Address field and select the preferred number of miles from the Distance dropdown selection (optional)
click Search.

A list of public, non-profit and quasi-public organizations that have agreed to host ABAWD volunteers will appear. By clicking the name of an organization, the user can access the following:

address, phone number, and website information of the provider; and
a map showing the location of the organization
