Checks-TAFDC
TAFDC clients who are temporarily absent from Massachusetts receive their benefits by check, not via direct deposit or EBT.
Viewing Benefit Issuance Mechanism in BEACON
To view information about how benefits are issued:
- select the Case Maintenance workflow
- go to the Program Administration workflow
- select the Benefit Issuance Mechanism page
- select the program (TAFDC)
The Mechanism field shows how the client receives benefits for a particular program. If Check is visible the client received a check. If EBT is visible the client receives benefits through EBT. If Direct Deposit is visible the client receives benefits through direct deposit.
If a client’s check is lost, stolen, destroyed or has expired after 90 days, they may request a replacement. See Replacing a Check – TAFDC.
